Agenda
유치원은 무엇보다 아이들에게 매력적이어야 한다. 아이들의 눈높이에 맞추어, 동화같은 느낌을 주는 유치원을 만들고자 했다. 형태와 위치에 따라 쉽게 공간을 구분할 수 있도록 하고, 층마다 다른 성격의 놀이 공간을 두어 다채로운 경험이 가능하도록 했다. 디자인 요소로 원과 아치를 활용해 아기자기하고 귀여운 인상을 더했다.
Kindergarten should be attractive to children above all else. Considering the children’s point of view, I wanted to create a kindergarten that gives the impression of a fairy tale. The space can be easily classified according to the shape and location, and a different type of play area is placed on each floor to enable a variety of experiences. Circles and arches were used as design elements, adding a cute impression.
Site
대지는 도로와 공원 산책로 사이에 위치해 있으며, 도로는 공원보다 약 3.6m 더 높다.
동쪽으로는 저수지를 조망할 수 있고, 남측으로는 녹지, 북측으로는 주차장과 접해있다.
The site is located between a road & a park, and the road is 3.6m higher than the park.
There’s a reservoir on the east, green area on the south, and a parking lot on the north.
Design
유치원은 전적으로 아이들에게 초점을 맞추어 디자인되었다. 사각형의 어휘를 사용한 다른 공간들과는 달리 놀이의 성격을 띠는 공간들은 모두 원형으로 설계하여 아이들이 직관적으로 공간의 성격을 구분할 수 있도록 하였다. 이외에도 곳곳에 둥근 어휘를 적용해 전반적으로 부드럽고 귀여운 인상을 주고자 했다.
다양한 크기와 모양의 개구를 가진 입면 또한 특징적이다. 창에는 원과 사각형을 다양하게 활용했으며, 주요 출입구에는 이들과 잘 어우러지는 아치를 사용했다.
The design of the kindergarten is fully focused on children’s point of view. Only the play areas are designed in circular forms, so that they would be easily distinguished from all the other masses shaped in rounded rectangle.
To seem attractive to children, various shapes of various sizes were used for doors & windows. Arch was used for the main openings, since it goes well with both circle and rectangle. Proportions of arches and circles were the important consideration.
Program
직관적으로 공간을 구분하고 찾을 수 있도록 같은 성격의 공간은 층마다 같은 위치에 배치했다.
각 층에는 홀, 교실, 그리고 놀이 공간이 위치한다.
아이들에게 가장 중요한 놀이 공간은 가장 접근성이 좋고 잘 보이는 유치원 중앙에 두고, 모래놀이터, 정원, 그물놀이공간 등 각 층마다 다른 활동을 할 수 있도록 설계했다. 또, 아이들이 많은 시간을 보내게 될 교실은 남측의 빛과 동측의 저수지 뷰를 모두 확보하는 쾌적한 위치에 배치했다. 주출입구와 스탠드가 위치한 보이드 공간에는 환영하는 인상을 주기 위해 천창을 내어 빛이 들게 했다.
Spaces that have similar characteristics are placed at the same location on each floor so that they can be intuitively distinguished and found. Halls, classrooms, and play areas are located on each floor.
Play areas, the most important places for children, are located in the center of the kindergarten. In the play area on each floor, children can enjoy different types of play; a sandbox, a garden, and a net. Classrooms, where children spend a lot of time, are placed in the best location to secure both sunlight from the south and a reservoir view on the east. In addition, skylights are located over the main entrance and the void space to give a welcoming impression.
